Costume Care and More

Costume Care Information

Please take excellent care of all of your costume pieces. Lost or damaged pieces cannot be replaced!

*Do not eat or drink while wearing your costume.

*Do not use an iron on any of your costume pieces. It will melt the satin and sequins.

*Do not wash your costume. If needed, spot clean carefully with water.

*Please save the tights that came with your costume for your PICTURES, REHEARSAL, and RECITAL performance.

*Hang your costume pieces in a safe place to help release any wrinkles.

*To help release wrinkles, we suggest hanging your costume in the bathroom while your shower is running. The steam will help tremendously.

Hair and Make-Up

You are welcome to wear your hair any way you’d like, but please follow these guidelines:

*If your costume comes with a hairbow, please wear it.

*Make sure your hair is secured off of your face and eyes so you can see! A bun, braid, or ponytail would be a great hairstyle choice!

*Use bobby pins, hair spray, or gel to help keep hair secured as well.

Make-up is optional but recommended. Stage lights can be bright, so follow these tips:

*Subtle eye-shadow, mascara, and a soft pink lipstick will really look nice with your costume!

*Again, use your best judgment on your dancer’s make-up!

Other Reminders

*Please do not wear any jewelry including necklaces, dangling earrings, bracelets, etc.

*Remember to take off watches and hair ties from your wrist.

*Please TUCK IN your ballet strings on your shoes and make sure your tap shoes are double knotted.
